A year ago, I was diagnosed with an enlarged liver. The scan showed a slight scratch caused by its expansion. The pain in my lower right side was sharp and familiar — it flared up whenever I ate oily food or too much of anything. I took the prescribed medication. I got better. But I was also told something else: you need to lose weight.
I tried. I really did.
I lost a bit of weight.
Then I gained it back.
Now I weigh 92kg.
Fast forward to today: same diagnosis. Same prognosis. Same medication. Same warning.
The Real Problem: Inconsistency
If I’m honest with myself, this isn’t just a health issue. It’s a consistency issue. I have a lot of “Day 1s” in my fitness journey — hopeful starts that don’t stick. I get excited. I dream big. But I rarely follow through for long.
So this time, I’m not starting with Day 1.
This is Day 0 — my thought day.
What Is Day 0?
Day 0 is the pause before the action.
It’s the day I reflect, recalibrate, and face myself honestly. So I walk to help me think.
It’s the day I ask:
- What do I want my life to look like?
- Who do I want to become?
- Why do I keep circling back to the same pain?
And today, those questions pulled something deeper out of me.
Because today, I contemplated something wild, scary, and oddly exciting:
I want to become a Medical Doctor.
Yep. Almost 30, and I still wanting to be one.
Not because it’s easy. But because it feels like the right thing. And it resonates me in a deeper level.
But before I can become someone who helps others heal, I need to heal myself — physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Still Figuring It Out
Do I know for sure that I’ll become one? No.
But the thought won’t leave me.
What I do know is this:
Whether or not I pursue medicine, I want to live as if I’m preparing for something meaningful.
I want to take care of myself like I’m worthy of health.
I want to show up for my body, my mind, and my future — no matter the outcome.
So today, I prepare for both:
For the version of me that becomes a doctor…
And the version that simply becomes a better, stronger me.
The “UNTILL” Formula
I’m thankful I stumbled back into Jim Rohn’s podcast.
One thing he said stuck with me like glue:
“You do the thing UNTIL it works. UNTIL you become who you want to be.”
It’s not about perfect plans.
Not about 30-day challenges.
It’s about showing up again and again — UNTIL.
So here’s my formula moving forward:
- I’ll eat better UNTIL my liver is healthy.
- I’ll move more UNTIL I feel strong.
- I’ll study UNTIL I wear that white coat.
- I’ll show up for myself UNTIL it becomes second nature.
Maybe You’re Here Too
If you’ve failed before… if you’ve started over more times than you can count…
I see you. I am you.
Let’s stop trying to be perfect on Day 1.
Let’s just start with Day 0 —
where we decide again.
And this time, we go UNTILL.
